Shopping at the grocery store
Is now a major daily chore.
No more pretzels, no more chips
Will ever pass through these lips.
Nuts and apples are no more,
Chewing with dentures makes me sore.
Fiber bars and lots of bran
Is what I eat whenever I can.
My bowels are slow, I cannot go
And so I spend a lot of dough
On laxatives I have to take
To unclog the “pipes” for goodness sake!
Can’t drink caffeine, can’t have meat,
No more ice cream for a treat.
Avoid the salt and sugar too…
What are old folks supposed to do?
